Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using AnyPDF (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Service Description

AnyPDF is a web-based service that converts PDF documents into structured data formats. The Service uses AI technology to extract data from uploaded documents and is available through the web interface and programmatic API.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any activity that occurs under it. Account sharing is not permitted.

You may deactivate your account at any time. Following a grace period, all associated data will be permanently deleted. Once deleted, data cannot be recovered.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

5.1 Plans and Payment

The Service offers multiple subscription tiers with varying features and usage limits. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis and renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5.2 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. Existing subscribers will receive at least 30 days' notice before any price change takes effect. Changes apply at the start of the next billing cycle.

Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance. You may cancel before the change takes effect if you do not agree.

5.3 Plan and Limit Changes

We reserve the right to modify plan features and usage limits at any time. Changes will be communicated with at least 14 days' notice and will not apply to existing subscribers until their next billing cycle.

5.4 Refunds

Refunds are generally not provided. Exceptional requests may be considered at our sole discretion. Contact support@anypdf.app for inquiries.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Upload malicious files or content that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service
  • Process documents you do not have the right to access
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Circumvent usage restrictions or abuse prevention measures
  • Share account credentials or API keys with unauthorized parties
  • Use the Service to build a competing product

7. Sensitive Data and User Responsibility

Documents uploaded to the Service may contain sensitive, confidential, or regulated information.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for determining whether the Service is appropriate for the content you upload. AnyPDF does not assume any liability for the content of documents you upload or for compliance obligations applicable to that content.

If your organization is subject to regulatory requirements (such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR special category data, or similar), you must independently evaluate suitability before use.

8. Accuracy Disclaimer

AI-extracted data is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or error-free. The Service is provided for convenience and is not a substitute for manual verification.

You must review and verify all output before relying on it for any purpose, including financial, legal, medical, or business decisions. AnyPDF is not liable for decisions or actions based on extracted data.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to content you upload and data extracted from it. We do not claim ownership of your content.

The Service, its branding, software, and documentation are the intellectual property of AnyPDF. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written permission.

Feedback or suggestions you voluntarily provide may be used by us without compensation or attribution.

10. Data Use and AI Training

By uploading documents to the Service, you grant AnyPDF a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, and create derivative works from the content you upload and the data extracted from it, for the purposes of:

  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the Service
  • Training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and improving AI and machine learning models used by or developed by AnyPDF
  • Developing new products, features, and services
  • Conducting research and analysis

This license survives termination of your account. Content used for AI training purposes will be de-identified where technically feasible — however, we cannot guarantee that all personally identifiable information will be removed from training data.

If you do not wish your data to be used for AI training, you must not upload it to the Service. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of this data use.

11. API Access

API keys are available on eligible plans for programmatic access. You are responsible for keeping API keys secure. We may revoke keys associated with misuse or abuse. API usage counts toward your plan's usage limits, and rate limits may be adjusted at our discretion.

12. File Handling and Retention

Uploaded files and outputs are automatically deleted after a limited retention period. We do not maintain backups of your files. You are solely responsible for keeping copies of your original documents.

13. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We are not liable for downtime or service interruptions.

14. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID TO ANYPDF IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. FOR FREE-TIER USERS, OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY IS $0 CAD.

WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless AnyPDF from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or the content of documents you upload.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice to registered users. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. You may cancel your account before changes take effect if you disagree.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that provides mandatory consumer protection laws, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights or restricts the jurisdiction of your local courts.

18. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision shall be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect.
